Grants from the Joseph Rowntree Reform Trust's UK Democracy Fund have enabled us to run voter registration drives and info sessions in 2021, 22 and 23 - reaching almost 20,000 young people.
The CIPR sponsors IHAV's 2022-23 mentoring scheme, delivers talks to the young people in our network and offers free student membership to our Youth Ambassadors and mentees.
The NHS Clinical Commissioners recruited summer interns from IHAV's Youth Ambassadors and one of them is now a member of their team. We have also provided public policy training for their team.
The Electoral Commission partnered with us to deliver their Youth Voice Network for England, ensuring young people have their say on the work the commission is doing. We host regular workshops and events.
The Welsh Government gave us a grant to deliver our peer-to-peer voter registration drives across Wales, helping to ensure young people in Wales are registered to vote.
The Scurrah Wainwright Trust provided a grant to pilot new political literacy and social action projects in Hull and Bradford.
"We are delighted to be working with truly inspiring I have a voice and would thoroughly recommend it to colleagues across the public affairs industry. With a majority female management team at GK, supporting greater diversity in politics and communications really matters to us. Our staff are really motivated and inspired to support IHAV's ambassadors in their powerful campaigns. We've held media training for them, offered mentoring, paid internships and given them work experience. I cannot stress enough the positive impact supporting IHAV has had on GK. We all have a responsibility to help shape the next generation of communications professionals – get involved!"
